Devil's Marbles - Eggs of the Rainbow Serpent

Since this photograph has an undeniable centre of interest, let's have a look at it.

What does the point of light represent to you?

How does it make you feel?

What words would you like to use to describe the quality of light here? Jot the words on a piece of paper before reading on.

Now look at the words you just wrote. Treat them as your connection to the universe, to your source of light and guidance. What do these words say about your inner landscape? Are you content with these words as a way of describing your connectedness? Maybe you are more than content; maybe you are ecstatic about how complete and full you feel! Or maybe you would like the light to feel stronger, brighter, richer, more colourful, or more vibrant. If so, are there ways that you can spend more time in the light, or ways to treat yourself to a richer experience of life's abundance?

Are the boulders getting in the way of feeling the light more completely? What are the barriers that stand in the way for you?

Once you have identified what these barriers are, focus on how you can overcome them. Be creative. Be frivolous. Try thinking beyond your initial solution. Look at the photograph again and imagine how to see the light without any obstruction. Sometimes in our lives we tend to exert so much energy trying to move the boulders that we forget there are other ways to overcome obstacles. When you have come up with one or more novel solutions in the photograph, see how they work when applied to your personal problem solving.

You may also be interested to know that these two rocks are among many gigantic boulders strewn across the desert north of Alice Springs, Australia. One of the great aboriginal stories handed down for thousands of years identifies these boulders as the eggs of the Rainbow Serpent, a creator being responsible for the origins of humanity and the world. The serpent was also believed to be the force that transformed the flat, featureless desert landscape into the world we see today.

Anything need transforming in your life? Perhaps this is the time to stock up on serpent energy and bring about change.

It's amazing how, with renewed energy, the boulders just don't look as large anymore. The world is not as foreboding as it seems.
