THE ART OF SEEING - THE ART OF LIVING
What I've Learned and What I'm Teaching

"The real voyage of discovery is not in seeing new landscapes,
 but in having new eyes."

 Sharing the Lessons

In my early years of photography, my work was totally inspired by the beauty of the natural world. Over the years my explorations have gone deeper, more in tune with the renowned Canadian painter, Emily Carr, who described what I was seeking as "the tremendous elsewhere that lies behind."

As I have grown, photographically and emotionally, I have felt more empowered and impassioned to share how fresh seeing can bend our horizons, taking us to new heights, looking anew at our planet.  This section of the website is about teaching you what I've learned so that you too can see with new eyes and experience a shift in your lives.

The Ripple Effect

By learning to see more options to a situation, or more than one answer to a question, we could become the designers of a brand new world. We could hone our skills on small problems, then apply our versatile minds to large ones.

This desire of mine is literally and intellectually reflected in my Pool of Possibilities, where I have been shown that there are an infinite number of ways of seeing one small space.  Now I am transporting that experience to looking at the larger world in a global context. As a result, I am much more interested in how I can increase my level of consciousness, and how my work might assist others in their quest.

Truly seeing with new eyes could have amazing ripple effects.  It could restore the ecological balance of the planet, prevent all wars forever, create a world of love and gratitude, eradicate hunger and poverty, and do away with disease.

Photography as a Tool

The way we do anything is the way we do everything.  How I use my camera to photograph the pool, for example, is how I use my Whole Self to live within the world.  So in my case, photography has trained me in the art of living.

I like to use my images and teach photographic techniques to show others how to see differently.  Not only does it result in more evocative pictures, but also in more creative, empowered, and responsible human beings.

But the experience is for everyone.  Click here to read more about the Seeing With New Eyes experience.
