THE SEEING WITH NEW EYES EXPERIENCE

I've come to realize that the things I've learned and am now privileged to teach attract people from many walks of life.  My 9-week workshop in my home included 15 people of various personal and professional backgrounds.  I've also held Seeing With New Eyes events for:

  • teachers
  • students of every age
  • artists
  • corporate and government groups

The results are electrifying!

I feel rewarded beyond my wildest dreams, just watching participants face challenges, grow and emerge victorious. Their testimonials affirm the transformative power of this work.

A Tool for Everyone
I use my photography when I am teaching, yet this is not just about photography.  My images are the best vehicle I have to portray that as human beings on varying paths of personal growth, we have within us the capacity to open our eyes and hearts to different perspectives.  As Gandhi encouraged, this work can help us to "be the change we desire in the world".

Whether you're a photographer, an artist, a doctor, a computer analyst, a kid of any age or a housewife, it does not matter.  You can apply the lessons and exercises within to any area of your life.  By simply becoming a more creative person, you can, in turn, become a more brilliant artist, leader, designer, producer, inventor, parent, and lover, able and willing to make valuable contributions to humankind.

Yes -- all from learning how to see with new eyes!

Comments From The 9-Week Workshop Participants:

"I've been able to hold up the whole Seeing With New Eyes work as a mirror for myself, rather than using it for other people and seeing what's wrong with them ... started as tiny, only looking at the parts I wanted to .. then I got a full length mirror and started looking inside and out, and got rid of the things I needed to ...working on loving me, being happy with me  .... I have a new job ... I stated I wanted one where I was happy, and would stay happy ... and I now have it."  T.M.

"I'm more truly myself than I was before  -- I am now doing what I want, not what I think I should for the good of the world, but what I truly love.  The irony is, doing what you love is truly good for the world!" D.M.

"The workshop was a doorway into a place I had previously been living and that I'd left behind.  Now it is the focus of every day and I can't stop thinking about it.  It's about "How did I do today, how can I do better?"  It feels like there's this urgency to evolve ..." C.C.

"One of the strongest things that has been so important to me is truly knowing that "I am the gift!". I'll carry that around forever and I do thank you for that.  I'm finding a new confidence in myself and doing things I may or may not have done before - but really being confident about it.  I'm also noticing a shift with my husband.  He sees me forging ahead and doing new things.  And he's sort of saying "Can I go too, see what you're doing, etc.".  So he's joining in and that's been kind of interesting because we used to have more separate lives." S.P.

"Before I was trying to control the situation and now I just live with whatever happens.  I don't know when it started, but it's a sense of calm I didn't have before.  I can only describe it as having more faith - not so much fear of the unknown.  I know everything will be OK."  N.H.

"The workshop did for me what I wanted it to do - to help me become focused.  It made me aware that I am a gift, I am special, I am a child of God, I don't need to apologize for who I am, what I am.  And some people like it, some people don't.  You can't win them all." A.W.

"The main thing I've done since the course ended is that I've been working on a book of photos for 10 years and it's come to fruition now." K.T.

Comments from Professional Photographers' Workshops and Conferences:

"Photographers from all disciplines, professional and amateur, would benefit greatly from Courtney Milne's seminar 'Seeing with New Eyes'. Edward Weston once said that 'composition was the strongest way of seeing'. Courtney's seminar expands on this premise and inspires one to really see with new eyes. Thank you Courtney!" B.P.

"Before attending Courtney's seminar, I expected to learn some tips and techniques on how to see light and the world around me so that I could improve my photography.  What I came away with was wholly unexpected and most welcome.  Courtney led me back to myself which is exactly where I needed to go.  I was reminded that in order to see with new eyes or excited eyes or artistic eyes, I needed to come from a place within and trust my faithful eyes.  It was important that each of us to have our own visions - in fact essential - and that we honor them.  In doing so we honor ourselves.  In doing so the photography will be true in it's communication and expression.

Courtney's seminar was refreshing in that he came from an honest and vulnerable place as he expressed his passions and beliefs.  I felt like he addressed the whole person - not just the photography.   It made an impact on me in ways I would never have imagined." F.B.

"In a nut shell, I just can't stop talking about it." S.B.

"Thank you for your reverence. I am truly inspired."  B.M.
